The Italian word for tomato is “pomodoro.” Lots of people know that. But I wonder if they know what it comes from? Your illustrations reminded me, so I thought I’d share: “pomo d’oro.” Golden orb. Isn’t that lovely?
i knew “pomodoro” was italian for tomato, but not where it came from. by the way, the type on the back is from wikipedia – all about tomatoes.
